About the Pentastar Alignment
The Pentastar Alignment is a collective of sentient beings, led by the Grander Moff and Supreme Moff Council. Beginning long ago as an imperial splinter, the Alignment has maintained key aspects of Imperial Culture and philosophy whilst adding to them under the benevolent leadership of moff-thought. The Pentastar Alignment is highly independent, self-funded and based on principles of autarky. Excellence is encouraged, loyalty is mandatory, the truth is decreed.
Moff Thought
Whilst many in the galaxy struggle with principles such as truth, wisdom and morality, citizens of The Pentastar Alignment are freed from the burden of such complicated questions. The Grander Moff has meditated at length on all topics of the mind and reason, and came to answers most sentients cannot comprehend. Accordingly, when power was seized in a bloodless administrative coup, citizens rejoiced and adopted the following principles.
1. Truth
Official narratives override all others, our enemies cannot be trusted with fact. Rumours are “fabrications,” rescinded proclamations are nonetheless permanently erased (or reinstated), and any archival confusion is simply “your fault.”
2. Loyalty
Every decree is to be followed without question. Failure to comply invites the harshest reprisals known to sentients: medal revocation.
3. Mental Defence
Doubt, care for external opinion, or any change in mood based on outside commentary is deemed treason. Enemies of The Alignment wage wars of the mind and soul, designed to trick and deceive every citizen from the humble miner, to the Grandest Moff.
4. Collective Good
The needs of the many, as decided by the Grander Moff and Moff Council, outweigh the needs of the few. The collective good of all Alignment citizens is paramount because the Alignment will only be as strong as the sum of its parts.
5. Omnipresence
Whether physically present or “eternally absent,” the Moff is everywhere. Portraits, proclamations, and medaled tokens ensure that citizens never forget they are always being observed and always have been. The Grander Moff protects and serves.
